Transparency and Democracy in Society, Group Analytic Therapy
and Psychoanalysis

The Israeli Institute of Group Analysis

Invites you to a special, multidisciplinary Study Day in response to the major social  protest that occurred in Isael last summer. The subject:

Friday, December 9, 2011
www.iiga.org.il

Campus of the Arts, The Kibbutz Seminar, Shoshana Persitz St.3, Tel Aviv

The issue of democracy (direct; not just parliamentary democracy) and
transparency in our wider societies are at the core of social protests, which in the Israeli case had two purposes: a call for social justice and an attempt to change awareness of social issues amongst the population. Perhaps the latter has been its biggest achievement.

We are certain that these issues are relevant to analytic group therapy and also to individual psychoanalysis. These treatment modalities do not operate in a vacuum but are embedded in a complex, social network. In view of this we have been careful to include among the lecturers and presenters not only clinicians but also representatives from the fields of social research and artistic activism.
